Filing an Ethics Complaint
We urge you to carefully read this page in its entirety before attempting to download any forms.
NOTICE: If you desire to file an ethics complaint against a member of the Association, you must download and complete the Ethics Complaint (Form #E-1) in its entirety. In particular, you must
1) identify yourself and the member against whom you are complaining;
2) cite the Article(s) of the Code of Ethics which you believe was violated by the member (A link to download this form appears below);
3) check the appropriate blocks as "YES" or "NO" where indicated;
4) provide your name and telephone number at the bottom of the form;
5) state your name and indicate your address at the bottom of the form;
6) sign your name beside your typed or printed name at the bottom of the form.
The Association cannot process your complaint unless the Ethics Complaint Form is completed in every detail. A link to download this form appears below.
Please Note: Under the established procedures of the Association, an Ethics Complaint is CONFIDENTIAL and you may not publish, verbally or in writing, the fact that you have filed an ethics complaint with the Association.
PLEASE BE SURE TO ATTACH TO THE ETHICS COMPLAINT A DETAILED STATEMENT TO THE FACTUAL BASIS OF YOUR COMPLAINT AND ATTACH ANY DOCUMENTS IN SUPPORT OF YOUR COMPLAINT. YOUR DETAILED STATEMENT MUST BE DATED AND SIGNED.
Form #E-1 requires the Complainant to identify the Article(s) of the NAR Code of Ethics which were allegedly violated by the member. The following links have been provided for your convenience.

Remember! Completed Forms #E-1 must be SIGNED and the form with the original signature must be delivered to the Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS.
