How Do I Become A REALTORŪ?
Before becoming a REALTORŪ, you first must earn a real estate license. The
requirements for earning a license are as follows:
You need to be at least 18 years old and be of good character and reputation.
You must
complete a basic course in real estate approved by the Real Estate Commission
that does not require more than 60 clock hours of classroom instruction
or if approved by the Commission as an alternative, courses in real estate
subjects in any college. The Southern Maryland Association of REALTORSŪ
offers a pre-licensing class several times a year.
PSI Examination Services
provides examination services for the Real Estate Commission.
Examinations given
daily Monday through Friday at PSI's testing centers which are located
in Baltimore,
College
Park,
Salisbury,
Hagerstown
and Lanham. Test dates are
by appointment only and confirmed in writing.
The exam is by computer and is two hours in length.
The exam fee is $60.00 each time it is taken.
Once you
have passed the exam, you are ready to complete the license application.
An applicant must obtain from a licensed real estate broker
a commitment stating that the applicant shall become affiliated with the
licensed real estate broker upon the granting of a real estate license
to the applicant. Visit real

broker expects of you and what you can expect of the broker. Make sure
the broker offers you a supportive business environment. A list
