Note: The Maryland Real Estate Commission requires a score of 70% or better on the final exam in order to receive CE credit, (regardless of what the individual course material may state). However, you are given multiple chances to pass the exam. You must take the exam within a week of finishing the course. Please see the SMAR Standard Policy for Distance Learning for additonal information. This Student Affidavit must be filled out and faxed in to 301-870-2575 before a CE Certificate may be issued.

SMAR Standard of Policy for Distance Learning

Notice to Student:
All questions pertaining to registration, refunds, school policy, course content, explanation of state licensing law, final exams, and completion certificates should be directed to Hannah Sanders (toll-free 888-340-8727 ext. 22). All questions will be responded to within two business days.

The following requirements must be met in order to complete the course and receive Education Certification:

  1. All courses must be completed within 180 days from date of purchase.
  2. Since these courses are independent study, no classroom attendance is required.
  3. Complete ALL computer modules online by passing module quizzes.
  4. Pass the appropriate course final examination with at least a 70% pass rate. If a student fails initially to achieve a passing score on a final examination, the student shall successfully pass the examination within one week from the original test date to use the course for credit toward the continuing education requirement.
You must sign, date and return a "Student Affidavit for Online Courses" to the school before you can receive credit for your course. This statement certifies that you have personally completed every requirement of the course and that have not provided any aspect of the course to others.

Grading
You are required to complete all lessons on the computer until the computer marks them complete. All courses require chapter quizzes and a final exam.

Certification
• Upon comple
tion of a course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
• Your certificate will be mailed to you.
• In the event the certificate is lost, a duplicate may be obtained from The Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS® by written request. An administrative fee of $10.00 will be charged for duplicate certificates.

Refunds
• No refunds will be given unless there are un-resolvable technological issues.
• No refunds will be given under any circumstances if the course has been completed.
• You have the right to cancel your registration for any reason up to five (5) business days from the date of purchase. A cancellation fee of 15% of the total purchase amount will be charged. Requests for cancellation of a registration must be made by contacting Hannah Sanders at 301-274-4406 x 22 or hannahsanders@smarweb.org. The request must be received by Hannah Sanders before midnight of the fifth business day from the date of purchase.
