Updated Bright MLS Rulebook Takes Effect July 22
Beginning July 22, Bright MLS will implement a newly condensed rulebook that provides clearer guidance and stronger protections for brokers and subscribers. While many of the updates simplify existing policies, there are a few important changes that every subscriber should be aware of.
Key Changes Include:
- No More Bright Disclosure Form: The Bright disclosure form will no longer be required.
- 2-Day Listing Entry Requirement: Listings must be entered into Bright MLS within two days of signing a listing agreement.
- New "Registered" Status: Later this summer, Bright will introduce a new Registered listing status, providing a placeholder for listings that are not yet ready to be actively marketed.
In addition, Bright has modernized its website display rules and data licensing requirements. One notable update prohibits uploading Bright MLS data into free AI tools, helping protect broker ownership of listing data.
Members are encouraged to review the complete updated rulebook at BrightMLS.com/Rules.
Enhanced Listing Management Features
Bright's enhanced Listing Management experience continues to evolve with features designed to save subscribers time.
One of the newest additions is the ability to copy an existing listing, making it much easier to relist expired properties or create duplicate listings without starting from scratch.
Legacy System Being Retired
Bright also announced that the legacy listing system will be retired at the end of the summer. If you haven't already made the transition, now is the perfect time to become familiar with the enhanced Listing Management platform.
