Over the course of two days, the REALTOR® Political Action Committee Trustees hosted interviews with approximately 40 candidates for local office across Southern Maryland. All candidates were required to submit a questionnaire prior to their interviews.

SMAR is a trade organization dedicated to serving over 1,700 members and affiliates, while fighting for the rights of over 170,000 Southern Maryland property owners. SMAR works directly with elected officials to find common sense solutions, while maintaining strong support for the real estate industry and all property owners.

SMAR is offering endorsements of the following candidates and leaders who are seeking county commissioner positions in Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s County during the June 23rd Primary Election: 

 

 

 

  

 

Candidates seeking SMAR's endorsement were required to respond to a written questionnaire, and to interview with the SMAR RPAC Trustees and representatives from SMAR's Government Affairs Committee (GAC). The Trustees and GAC representatives included: Tanya Redding (Chair), Chris Hill (Vice Chair), Bernadette Cole, Theresa Deminne, Julie Fuller, Craig Gough, Beverly Rasmussen, and Kevin Turner.
